When I was a sophomore in college, I used to ask people I didn’t know at the dining hall if I could sit and eat with them. What would typically start as awkward introductions would usually develop into pretty engaging conversations before ending with quick photos and maybe quotes.
I’m still struck at how much meaning and joy I’ve derived over the years through documenting quotidian things, like eating lunch or dinner. Whenever I look back at the memories captured here, I’m reminded that people have some beautiful, hilarious, eye-opening stories. And the best part? They're everywhere. You don't have to go far away to meet someone with an interesting story. You just have to show up, be emotionally and physically present, and listen with a welcoming mind. - Edric Zeng |
